The School of Engineering is holding WindEng2011 – JUDGES WANTED!!!

The School of Engineering is holding WindEng2011 – the 5th annual high school wind energy design competition on Friday April 29, 2011

High school students are asked to follow the design criteria and constraints outlined on our website and construct an energy generating wind turbine. The testing will occur at the university wind tunnel. The objective is to promote interest in alternative energy solutions, foster engineering design skills and encourage learning. To see a summary of the competition please see the Daily Planet clip of a past competition on our website.

This year we are expecting approximately 300 students along with their teachers from high schools across Ontario. With this large amount of participants we would like to ask for your help for the following:
• Judge the designs of the students
• Excite and educate students about the field of engineering or renewable energy by providing a display
• Provide prizes for the winning teams
• Generate resources to cover operational costs for current and future WindENG competitions

For more information we invite you to visit our website, www.windeng.ca or contact us directly. Thank you for your consideration and we look forward to hearing from you soon.
